family engagement
Families are a vital source of love and support for our clients at Galen Hope, which is why we invite families and loved ones to be part of the recovery process. We take a three-pronged approach that incorporates family therapy, family education, and family coaching, communicating with you throughout your loved one’s journey and keeping you informed so that you can rest easier knowing your loved one is being well cared for.

keeping families involved in the healing process
A few of the ways we support families include regular communication with care partners and other clinical team members and designated Family Days, in addition to monthly multi-family therapy sessions and weekly Zoom experiences, such as DBT. We also coach families on how to continue to support their loved one as they transition back into the community. The goals are to make sure families have their questions answered, feel connected to their loved one during treatment, build community with other families, and feel confident in their ability to best support their loved one in treatment and beyond.
As healing as occurs, families may also need to shift their thinking about their loved one, too. Instead of relating to their loved one as being fragile and sick, families may need time and support to adjust to thinking of their loved one as capable and well. We are here to help families get comfortable with new ways of relating to or interacting with one another.
